The Morning Breaks a Christian Hymn. Isaiah 60:1-3

The Morning Breaks
The morning breaks, the shadows flee;
Lo, Zion’s standard is unfurled!
The dawning of a brighter day,
The dawning of a brighter day
Majestic rises on the world.

The clouds of error disappear
Before the rays of truth divine;
The glory bursting from afar,
The glory bursting from afar
Wide o’er the nations soon will shine.

The Gentile fulness now comes in,
And Israel’s blessings are at hand.
Lo, Judah’s remnant, cleansed from sin,
Lo, Judah’s remnant, cleansed from sin,
Shall in their promised Canaan stand.

Jehovah speaks! Let earth give ear,
And Gentile nations turn and live.
His mighty arm is making bare,
His mighty arm is making bare
His cov’nant people to receive.

Angels from heav’n and truth from earth
Have met, and both have record borne;
Thus Zion’s light is bursting forth,
Thus Zion’s light is bursting forth
To bring her ransomed children home.
by Parley P. Pratt

Related Scripture Isaiah 60:1-3
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

The Godly Are Victorious Psalms 2:1-12

Psalms 2:1- 12
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have them in derision. 5 Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. 6 Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. 7 I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. 8 Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. 10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. 11 Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Commentary:
This is a Messianic Psalm speaking to the concept that the heathen or the wicked will fight against the Lord and His gospel but will not be victorious. God has begoten His son, Jesus christ to lead the righteous against the heathen and will be victorious in the end.

Pray For Our Leaders & All Mankind 1 Timothy 2:1-3

1 Timothy 2:1-3
1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.

Commentary:
We are told in this scripture to supplicate, prayer, intercession and thanks be made by us for all mankind. There are as many things to pray for regarding mankind as there are people to pray. That is obvious. The question I have is do we take time to pray everday, let alone pray for all of mankind? I’m not suggesting just a simple prayer to “bless all mankind to be good” which would be wonderful if mankind would be good but different regions of the country have different needs. The AIDS epidemic and famine in Africa verses the worldiness of the western world to the wars in different countires etc. All mankind is our neighbor as well as the very least soul in Asia or anywhere in the world. Can we pray for mankind and then in a fit of road rage flip someone off and yell at them. If we are sincere in our prayers for mankind then we will learn to love them if we haven’t thought about it already. If we love our neighbors and mankind we should naturally want to build them up and smile not raise an angry fist and shout.

Moving on to verse two: the scriptures go on to say to pray for Kings and for all that are in authority “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty”. We need to pray not just for mankind but for world leaders to make decsions and lead in the direction of peace and to create an enviroment whereby we can live in peace, in godliness and where we can be honest and not lie out of fear for our lives or family etc.

Being Christian is not easy and it is time consuming. We need to be anxiously involved in good and prasieworthy activities as well as be upright in our lives and be prayerful, not just to deliver us from sin and temptation but pray for all mankind and world leaders. What do you think?

Then it goes
