1 John 1:6-9
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Commentary:
This passage of scripture found in 1 John talks about one the of the ways we can have fellowship with the Lord. God is light and if we save we have fellowship with the Lord but walk in darkness we are liars and hypocrites.
But if we are honest and recognize that we stry from the light from time to time and need to confess our sins and seek repentance then God is faithful to forgive us and we can return to the light. As we progress in the cycle of truth, humility then we can be “cleanse us from all unrighteousness” and gain even greater fellowship with our Creator.
