1 John 2: 22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
Commentary:
As I watch TV programs and documentaries about the Signs of The Times and the Last Days and the Antichrist and so forth, they have some convelooted explanation about the Antichrist. Sometimes they make it out to be just one person, or a country or a people etc. I have to doubt the inspiration of the writters and producers of these shows because they seem to fail mentioning this small and simple verse.
The antichrist is simply those who deny that Jesus is the Christ and subsequently The Father and the Son.
According to this inspired declaration, one could say a large percentage of the worlds population is antichrist. Consider this question; can you deny something that you don’t know? To deny implies you know something but deny it anyway.
So in my opinion there are many antichrists out there. Perhaps they numer in the 1000’s or maybe millions. Those number are small in comparison to the worlds population.
Now consider this idea with me. Can we reclaim some of those antichrists? Can we deny God’s mercy and grace? The answer is no we cannot deny God’s mercy and subsequent grace. Therefore I submit that it is possible for some antichrists to be reclaimed. Some of them may even now be know as “born again Christians”. “I was once lost but now I’m found”.
What I propose it that we go to work now and reduce the potential army of antichrists in the last days by reclaiming them now. Let’s bring them into the sheepfold of the Good Shepherd and let His mercy and grace heal them spiritually and add them to the army of Christian Soldiers.
