You Can’t Escape The Love of Jesus Christ Romans 8:35-39

Romans 8:35-39
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Commentary:
This is a heart warming passage of scripture from the bible. The short and the long of it is that nothing we can do or any situation we may find ourselves in we cannot get away from the love of Jesus Christ. Not that we would want to. But I think that one of the points it makes is that if you feel that a sinful life you may have lived may make you feel like the Lord no longer loves you. Or if you are in the pit of despair from some affliction for an extended period of time you may feel that you have lost favor with God, that He no longer loves you.

God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ will never stop loving you. Since their love is unconditional let us not use the excuse that we have sinned away our lives so far that we’ve lost favor with the Lord. But just because they love us unconditionally doesn’t mean we have a “free pass” at the judgement bar. No unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of Heaven. But since we know of their love for us let that motivate us to continually seek honest and humble repentance so that we can inherit eternal life.
